Bokamoso Impact Investments is a social enterprise dedicated to connecting the impoverished rural populations of South Africa to opportunity via empowerment, using diverse entrepreneurial platforms.
Agricultural Incubation Hub
Bokamoso launched an Agricultural Innovation Lab, providing a four month agricultural crash course to motivated entrepreneurial community members who go on to acquire certification from the Agricultural Research Council after a written/verbal assessment in accordance with our curriculum that aligns with the ARC’s core teachings.
Our training covers everything from constructing a drip irrigation scheme, building a nursery, detecting diseases among the vegetables and how to treat them with pesticides and introducing organic fertilizer and fertigation.
Enterprise Development
Our post-incubation phase is where we help our farmers to scale their agribusiness and farm on their own land. We focus on the production of quality graded vegetables, including potatoes, cabbage, tomatoes and onions.
Market Access Facilitation
Bokamoso coordinates and aggregates the production of our smallholder farmers in terms of crop quality standards as
well as providing storage facilities and transport to move the produce from the farm to the market.
We work to integrate our farmers into the agricultural value chain and the agro-food markets and our project partners play a frontal role in the form of facilitating market access by going into direct off-take and profit sharing agreements with each of our farmers.
Commitment to our farmers
We offer our farmers the best technical know-how and the incentives to increase production with the certainty of a ready market for their produce.
Commitment to our consumers
We provide our consumers with access to large quantities of fresh vegetables that surpass the quality of products transported from produce markets hundreds of miles away.
Commitment to our Investors
Bokamoso Impact is committed to increasing our company’s value and providing profits to its investors, with transparency and corporate ethics as our guiding principles.
We have a number of private sector partners who assist our farmers by offering several dimensions of expertise.
